Raglan Road Brunch - Disney Springs

On Valentine's Day, we had brunch at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant in Disney Springs.

Raglan Road is not Disney owned and operated, so they do not have an allergy-friendly menu, but food allergies and special dietary restrictions are taken very seriously.  A chef will not come to your table, but I have found their servers to be extremely knowledgeable, and when they are not sure of something, they will check with the kitchen.  Recently, Raglan Road added a gluten free menu to their website, which you can view here.  The menu lists options that are naturally gluten free, and those that can be made gluten free.

The Rollicking Raglan Weekend Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, and features an Irish Dance Show from 12-3 pm.

My husband and I decided to share two entrees.  The first was a naturally gluten free dish, the Pork Hash Tagged with braised pork belly, scallions, and potato hash topped with two fried eggs.  I was excited to try the hash, because my friend Sarah from Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free at WDW ordered it as a side dish the last time she had brunch at Raglan Road, and raved about it in her review.  I was shocked when I took my first bite, because the hash is a little vinegary, which I did not expect, but I quickly got used to it.  My husband and I both agreed that the more we ate of the hash, the more we liked it, and we would definitely order it again.

We also shared an order of Fish & Chips, but asked for garlic parmesan & truffle oil skinny chips instead of the thick cut chips that are usually served with the fish.  My gluten-eating husband prefers the gluten free batter over the regular one, so he never minds sharing this dish with me.  We love their fried fish, but it is almost always underseasoned, but that is easily rectified by adding a little salt at the table.

The garlic parmesan & truffle oil skinny chips at Raglan Road, and their quick service restaurant Cookes of Dublin, are always amazing.  We love their onion rings too, which can be ordered as a side dish.

Raglan Road has some of the best gluten free desserts at Disney World.  I love their strawberry and apple crumble with vanilla ice cream and fresh cream, but I was pretty full from brunch, so I ordered my other favorite dessert, which is a little lighter.

Dundon's Delight features a raspberry pavlova with vanilla ice cream, raspberry sauce, and fresh raspberries.  The pavlova, which is a meringue-based dessert, was crispy on the outside, and had a light raspberry center.  It was the perfect dessert after a big meal.  The dessert menu also features a gluten free & dairy free option, the Chocolate Heaven, which is a flourless chocolate cake with fresh berries, chocolate ganache, and whipped cream.  I had a chance to taste this cake when I had lunch with my friend Sarah from Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free at WDW last year, and thought it was very good.  You can read her review here.  (Advance notice is no longer needed for the cake)

My gluten-eating daughters ordered the young shepherd's pie, which is naturally gluten free, and the little big burger, which can be served with a gluten free bun, from the Kid's Brunch Menu.  Out of our three meals at Disney this weekend, this was my favorite.  The food at Raglan Road is consistently good, and their gluten free options are plentiful, which is why they earned a place on my list of best table service restaurants at Disney World.

May 9, 2016 Update

Yesterday, we celebrated Mother's Day at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant.  Our meal started off with a sample of their mixed berry and mango smoothie, which was very good.  I considered ordering one, but did not want to fill up on a smoothie with all the food we were ordering.

My husband and I shared an appetizer, a side dish, and an entree.  My new favorite dish at Raglan Road is the Kiss Before Shrimp appetizer with pan seared local Florida coast shrimp in a garlic & chili lemon butter sauce, served with an Udi's gluten free roll.  The butter sauce is nice and garlicky with a little bit of a spicy kick.  I love dipping pieces of my roll in it, which is way better than any Udi's bun I have bought at the grocery store.

We also ordered a side of the Pork Hash Tagged brunch entree, which we first tried on our last visit.  I like this dish, but my husband loves it, so I ate most of the Kiss Before Shrimp, while he enjoyed his braised pork belly and potato hash topped with a fried egg.

For an entree, we shared an order of the gluten free fish with garlic parmesan & truffle oil skinny chips, which are usually a $2.00 upcharge.  My daughter Katie requested the same chips with her hamburger, so I double checked to make sure mine were made in dedicated fryer and not mixed up with hers when they arrived at the table.  Our server told me that gluten free fried foods are served in brown paper instead of the white paper they usually use.

Our fried fish and garlic parmesan & truffle oil skinny chips were both delicious, but the fish needed some salt, which I added at the table.

Raglan Road recently changed their dessert offerings.  On the adult menu, gluten free options include an apple and peach crumble, and flourless chocolate cake, which you can read about in my latest lunch review.  On the Kids' Menu, they offer a Strawberry Delight, which tastes like the Dundon's Delight that used to be on the adult dessert menu.  It features a pavlova with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, fruit coulis, and fresh strawberries. I like their crumble and the flourless chocolate cake, but I was in the mood for the pavlova yesterday, which they allowed me to order from the Kids' Menu.  It was just as good as the Dundon's Delight they used to offer, and was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.

Be sure to request a table with a good view of the stage, so you can enjoy the music and dancing during brunch.

You can read my previous brunch review of Raglan Road here, and my lunch and dinner reviews here and here.

You can make advance dining reservations for Raglan Road on Disney's website, or on OpenTable.
