Gluten Free at the Disneyland Hotel

Over Christmas Break, we spent 6 nights at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California.  I booked our stay with Dana Zificsak, a fellow celiac, from Magical Moments Vacations.  Dana told me that the Disneyland Hotel is her favorite of the Disneyland Resort Hotels, and I can definitely see why after staying there.

Our room was large, the beds were comfortable, and the headboard, with its fireworks and music, was magical.  We also loved the location of the Disneyland Hotel, which is right next to Downtown Disney, and a short walk to both theme parks.  As far as dining goes, there are several options to choose from at the Disneyland Hotel.  I have heard that Goofy's Kitchen does a great job with special diets, but my daughters are not a fan of character meals, and we seldom dine at restaurants with buffets anymore, because we have to pay adult prices for our twins, who don't eat enough food to justify it at age 12.

Storytellers Cafe - Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

Over Christmas Break, we spent a week at Disneyland Resort in California.  On New Year's Day, I was concerned about how crowded the theme parks would be, so I made dinner reservations at Storytellers Cafe at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

I was excited to try it after reading my friend Sarah's recent lunch review on her blog Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free at WDW.

Gluten Free in Temecula, California

Over Christmas Break, we spent two nights in Temecula, California visiting with family before heading to Disneyland.  When I posted on Instagram that we were on our way to Temecula, gfmealsbymorgan gave me several restaurant suggestions, including E.A.T. - Extraordinary Artisan Table.

We loved E.A.T. so much, we actually stopped there three times in two days.  The first morning for breakfast, I asked our server the usual round of questions I ask at restaurants, to best insure that my food is safe from cross contamination.  They take all the right precautions at E.A.T., and they have plenty of great gluten free options to choose from.  Paleo and vegan options are available as well.

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe - Disneyland Park

Over Christmas Break, we spent six nights at Disneyland Resort.  The best breakfast I  had during out stay was at Carnation Cafe, which you can read about here.

For my gluten-eating family, finding a quick breakfast is easy, but for me, it can be more of a challenge.  On our last full day, after riding Peter Pan right after rope drop, I went in search of a quick service restaurant to have breakfast.  I considered Galactic Grill, but we were closer to the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, so I stopped in to ask about gluten free options.  The chef I spoke to said he could make me a breakfast sandwich with a gluten free bun substituted for the croissant.

Gluten Free Snacks and Treats at Disneyland Resort

Over Christmas Break, we spent six nights at Disneyland Resort.  We arrived New Year's Eve, and stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, which I highly recommend.  Our 5-Day Park Hopper Tickets definitely came in handy this year when it came to snacking at the theme parks, because we had the flexibility to visit Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in the same day, which we often did just for the food.

Gluten free desserts are harder to come by at Disneyland than Disney World.  Two of my favorite options are the Neapolitan milkshakes at Flo's V8 Cafe, which you can read about here, and Pineapple Dole Whip with Tajin from the Tiki Juice Bar in Adventureland at Disneyland Park.  Pineapple Dole Whip, which is gluten free and dairy free, is also available at the Coffee House at Disneyland Hotel.
