Erin McKenna's Bakery Soft Serve - Disney Springs

Earlier today, I stopped at Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC in Disney Springs (aka Downtown Disney) to check out their latest sweet treat - soft serve.

When I saw the ingredients of the soft serve on their Facebook page, I wasn't sure I was going to like it, because it is made with coconut milk.  I have always intensely disliked coconut, but I am ok with coconut oil or coconut milk being in the foods I eat, as long as they don't taste like coconut.

Vanilla soft serve ingredients: vegan sugar, dextrose, coconut milk, tapioca, non-GMO maltodextrin, tapioca starch, coconut oil powder, mondiglycerides, guar gum, xanthan gum, carrageenan

Chocolate soft serve ingredients: vegan sugar, coconut milk, dextrose, tapioca starch, coconut oil powder, mondiglycerides, tapioca, non-GMO maltodextrin, vanilla extract, salt, vanilla seeds, guar gum, xanthan gum, cocoa extract, carrageenan, cocoa

When I asked if the soft serve tasted like coconut, I was told that I might be able to taste it in the vanilla, so I decided to order the chocolate.  For toppings, Erin McKenna's Bakery has coconut, chocolate chips, fairy dust (colored sugar sprinkles), brownie crumbles, and chocolate chip cookie crumbles.

There was no way I was passing up a chance to have brownie crumbles on my soft serve, something that has not been possible in the seven years since my celiac diagnosis.  I loved the chocolate soft serve, and I loved the brownie crumbles.  The soft serve was nice and creamy, and tasted like the dairy-filled soft serve I am used to.  I ordered a small cup, which was plenty for me with all those brownie crumbles.

The soft serve is free of gluten/wheat, dairy, egg, soy, peanuts, and tree nuts, according to Erin McKenna's Facebook page.  It is also vegan and kosher.  You can view a picture of the vanilla soft serve with pixie dust here.  Three topping are available - caramel, real strawberry preserves, and vegan chocolate sauce that hardens when poured on the soft serve, like magic shell.  Currently, Edward & Sons cake cones are available, but when inventory is depleted, the bakery will be using Edward & Sons sugar cones.  You can view pictures of the soft serve with toppings, and soft serve in a cone on Erin McKenna's Instagram page.

Have you tried the soft serve at Erin McKenna's Bakery in Disney Springs?  What are your favorite flavors and toppings?
