Orlando Celiac Support Group

On July 16th, the Celiac Support Association awarded a chapter charter to CSA in Orlando #159, which means we now have an official support group for people with celiac disease and gluten intolerance in Orlando.   The Celiac Support Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals with celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis worldwide through research, education and support.

You can read more about the Celiac Support Association on Jennifer's website, Celiac in Orlando.  Jennifer, Vanessa Huber, Michelle Burnson and I started the Orlando Celiac Support Group to raise awareness, and provide a way for people to connect with others for support in the Orlando area.  If you are interested in joining our chapter and attending our first official meeting, head over to our Facebook page Orlando Celiac Support Group and ask to join.

Our first Orlando Celiac Support Group meeting is Sunday, September 21st from 1:00 to 2:30 in Scat Cat's Lounge next to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.  Once you join our Facebook page, you can RSVP to our first meeting under the Events tab.

Gluten, dairy, egg, and soy free beignets will be available for purchase during our first meeting.  You can read more about Sassagoula's gluten free beignets here.

If you are looking to have lunch, you could arrive a little early and dine at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, which has a lot of great gluten free options.

If you are interested in attending our first meeting, don't forget to head over to our Facebook page Orlando Celiac Support Group, ask to join the group, then RSVP for the meeting under Events.  Our Facebook page is a closed group, and is only for people interested in joining our local chapter.  All future meetings will be posted in this group, which is our main way of communicating with our members.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at glutenfreeinorlando@gmail.com.  Jennifer has some additional information on her website Celiac in Orlando, which you can view here.

We look forward to seeing you on September 21st!
