Mochi Ice Cream - Japan Pavilion at Epcot

During our trip to Disney World in July, we stopped at the Japan Pavilion in Epcot to see if they still offered mochi ice cream.

The mochi ice cream is available at a small cart towards the back of the Japan Pavilion.

You can purchase boxes with 6 pieces, or small Hello Kitty packages with 2 mochi ice cream bonbons.

Flavors include chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and green tea mochi ice cream, and mango mochi sherbet.

Maeda-en mochi ice cream bonbons are labeled gluten free, and we have tried all the flavors available at Epcot except the green tea. My favorite is actually the red bean, which I used to buy at an Asian market when we lived in Orlando, but it is not sold at the Japan Pavilion. My daughters love the strawberry, but I prefer the mango, chocolate, and vanilla.

The Hello Kitty two packs come in vanilla and strawberry.

The mochi dough around the ice cream is made from pounded rice, and it is a bit chewy, which I really enjoy.

You can read my review of Maeda-en mochi ice cream bonbons here.

What are your favorite flavors of mochi ice cream?
