Katsura Grill - Epcot

During our trip to Disney World in July, I had lunch at Katsura Grill, a quick service restaurant at the Japan Pavilion in Epcot.

My daughters wanted to have lunch at La Cantina de San Angel, but I was not in the mood for Mexican food, so we stopped at both.

Katsura Grill does not have an allergy-friendly menu, but the cast member I spoke to told me that I could order the shrimp & chicken teriyaki, or the chicken teriyaki from either the adult menu or the kids menu.

As you can see on my receipt, my order was marked gluten free.

My shrimp & chicken teriyaki was served with an allergy stick, and it only took about 5 minutes to prepare. I did not want the garden salad that was served with the adult meal, so I asked if I could get the vegetables from the kids menu instead, which included corn and broccolini.

This meal could have been really good if Katsura Grill's teriyaki sauce was better. It was just not sweet enough for my taste. Lately, we have been buying Coconut Secret teriyaki coconut aminos, which would have been delicious with this meal. My chicken, shrimp, and vegetables were cooked well, and everything tasted fresh, but I would probably not dine here again anytime soon, because I did not enjoy the teriyaki sauce.

Overall, I was happy that Katsura Grill has safe gluten free options, but I found myself wishing that I had dined somewhere else.

You can read more about Katsura Grill, and view their menu and hours on Disney's website. You can read my friend Sarah's review of Katsura Grill on her website Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free at WDW.

What are your favorite gluten free options at the Japan Pavilion in Epcot?
