Purple Wall Slushy - Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant

Last week, my daughters and I tried the purple wall slushy at Tomorrowland Terrace, a quick service restaurant in Disney's Magic Kingdom.

The slushy was created to commemorate the Purple Wall, a popular photo spot in Tomorrowland, right next to Tomorrowland Terrace.

Tomorrowland Terrace does not have an allergy-friendly menu, but I spoke to a manager who told me that the purple wall slushy is gluten free, and options one and two on their menu can be made gluten free by using an allergy-friendly bun and allergy-friendly chicken tenders.

If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, you can use a snack credit for the purple wall slushy, which is a taro tea slush with tapioca boba pearls, topped with whipped cream and colorful sprinkles.

To be honest, I did not think I would like it, because I assumed it would be overly sweet or taste strange, but it might be my new favorite gluten free snack at Disney World. Sadly, I tried the purple wall slushy our last full day in the theme parks, so I only had it once on our July trip. I am hoping it is still around when we travel to Disney again in November.

I loved the chewiness of the tapioca boba, which appeared to be solid, instead of liquid-filled, like the boba I have had in the past. The purple wall slushy seemed more like a milkshake to me than a slush, and it had a pretty neutral flavor, because taro tastes similar to a white sweet potato. My daughter Katie and I raced to eat spoonfuls of it until it was gone. My daughter Emma was not a fan, which was fine with me, because that meant there for was more for Katie and I.

I had hoped to get a picture of my purple wall slushy in front of the Purple Wall, but it was pouring when I ordered it, so I had to settle for a purple wall selfie when it was not raining.

You can read more about Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, and view their menu and hours on Disney's website.

Have you tried the purple wall slushy? What are your favorite gluten free snacks at Disney World?

August 26, 2018 Update  - The purple wall slushy is no longer available, because Tomorrowland Terrace is only open seasonally, but hopefully it will be on the menu when the restaurant reopens at the holidays, or next summer.
