Rose & Crown - Epcot

Earlier this month, we had lunch at Rose & Crown Dining Room in the United Kingdom Pavilion at Epcot.

Rose & Crown has an allergy-friendly menu that lists options for people with gluten/wheat, milk, egg, soy, fish/shellfish, and peanut/tree nut allergies.

I considered ordered the chicken masala curry or the vegetable cottage pie, but the last time we dined at Rose & Crown, I had a gluten free version of the Shepherd's Pie, which I loved, so I asked our server if the chefs could make it for me, which they could.  You can read my previous review of Rose & Crown here.

This time around, I did not love the Shepherd's Pie.  There were way too many carrots under the mashed potatoes, and way too little meat.

My friend Ron, who has to eat gluten and dairy free, ordered the chicken masala curry with seasonal vegetables and brown rice, which he really enjoyed.  He graciously allowed me to sample a bite before he dug in, and I was really impressed.  The next time I dine at Rose & Crown, I will definitely be ordering the chicken masala curry.

For dessert, I decided to try the English Trifle with fresh strawberries, vanilla custard, and whipped cream.  I was not a fan of this dessert, but my husband, who did not order dessert, said he was willing to eat it, and thought it was very good.  It tasted too much like vanilla pudding to me, a food I do not enjoy, so I opted to have my favorite dessert at the 2016 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival - the Cremosa al Pistacchio at the Italy Pavilion.

We dined outside on the patio, and had this lovely view of the World Showcase Lagoon.

What are your favorite gluten free options at Rose & Crown Dining Room?
