D-Luxe Burger - Disney Springs

Yesterday, we had lunch at D-Luxe Burger, which opened in the Town Center neighborhood of Disney Springs last Sunday.

D-Luxe Burger is a quick service restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.  After you order, you are given a pager to let you know when your food is ready to be picked up.  They currently do not have an allergy-friendly menu, but a chef quickly came out to speak to me about gluten free options.  He told me that any of the burgers could be made gluten free, and the fresh-cut fries are made in dedicated fryers, so they are safe.

I did not ask about any of the drinks, shakes or floats, but I noticed they do have Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider, which is gluten free.

I knew D-Luxe Burger uses Local Oven gluten free hamburger buns from reading my friend Sarah's review on her blog Gluten-Free & Dairy Free at WDW.  I much prefer Deanna's Gluten Free buns, which are carried at some Disney restaurants, so I decided to get a lettuce wrap instead.

I ordered the Barbecue Classic Burger, which is described as a signature blend beef patty topped with a fried onion ring, smoked Gouda, bacon, barbecue sauce, and lettuce.  The onion ring had to be left off the burger to make it gluten free, and I asked for cheddar cheese instead of Gouda.

I loved everything about my burger.  I removed a little bit of the lettuce, which was super crispy, and complimented my burger well.  The burger itself was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and I loved the taste of their barbecue sauce.  With the cheddar and bacon, my Barbecue Classic Burger was one of the best burgers I have ever had at Disney World, only rivaled by my favorite burgers at The Wave and the Grand Floridian Cafe.

D-Luxe Burger's fresh-cut fries remind me of the amazing french fries served at The Original Hot Dog Shop (aka the "O") in Pittsburgh, which are fried twice to achieve their perfect crispiness.  Our family of four shared two large orders of fries, which was just the right amount for us.  I had the cast member who took my order at the counter mark one order of fries as a gluten allergy, and I am glad I did, because they were put in a bag with my burger, separate from my family's gluten-containing food.

All of the complimentary dipping sauces at D-Luxe Burger are gluten free.  I ordered the curry ketchup for myself, and the chipotle mayo for my husband.  The curry ketchup (on the left) was amazing, so I barely used any of the regular ketchup I got at the condiments bar on my fries.  Mitch liked the chipotle mayo, which was a little bit spicy.

While my husband and father-in-law were waiting in line at D-Luxe Burger, my daughters and I headed to Sprinkles to pick up some cupcakes and cookies.  My father-in-law and I shared a gluten free chocolate chip cookie, and a gluten free red velvet cupcake.  The cookie was good, but had way too many chocolate chips in it for my taste.

We both loved the cupcake, which was incredibly moist, and had just the right amount of cream cheese frosting.  You can read my review of Sprinkles here.

Overall, we all loved our meals at D-Luxe Burger, and look forward to dining there again soon.  D-Luxe Burger may be a quick service restaurant, but their gourmet burgers and fries are a definite step above the burgers and fries served at other quick service restaurants at Disney World.

June 17, 2017 Update

Since I wrote this review, we have visited D-Luxe Burger several times, and it is tied for the top spot on my list of favorite quick service restaurants at Disney World.  Last week, we had dinner at D-Luxe Burger, and I ordered a large fresh-cut fries, which I shared with my daughter Katie, and a a barbecue burger with a lettuce wrap, no fried onions rings (they are not gluten free), no grilled onions, and cheddar cheese subbed for the smoked Gouda.  When I mentioned that I wanted to order a gluten free burger, the cast member taking orders quickly had a chef brought out for me to speak to.

I love the lettuce wraps at D-Luxe Burger so much, I never consider getting their gluten free buns.  My burger was incredible, and I liked my fries, though I thought the curry ketchup, which was a darker color on this visit, was not as good.  D-Luxe Burger is already on our agenda for our trip to Disney World in November.

What are your favorite gluten free options at D-Luxe Burger?

  1. Has anyone been able to find out the ingredients in the Sprinkles gluten free cupcake and cookie? (I can't have sorghum or arrowroot in addition to gluten)??
