Krave Jerky

While looking through The Fresh Market's March edition of Inspirations, I noticed that Krave Jerky was on sale for $4.99.  On Wednesday, I spotted Krave Black Cherry Barbecue Pork Jerky while at my local The Fresh Market.

Before I discovered Krave, I rarely ever bought any kind of jerky, but I liked the idea of a black cherry barbecue seasoned jerky, and I am always up for trying new gluten free products.  I have a couple of confessions to make.  I decided to sample my bag of jerky after already eating lunch on Wednesday.  It was love at first bite!  I ate the entire bag, which thankfully is only about 280 calories.  On Thursday, I was back at The Fresh Market buying all the bags of Krave Black Cherry Barbecue Pork Jerky they had in stock, and I ate a whole bag for lunch.

My second confession - I started craving jerky this morning after pondering what I would write about on my blog today.  So what did I do?  I ate this plate of jerky (one bag) for breakfast!  Yep, it is that good!

Krave black cherry barbecue pork jerky contains pork, cane sugar, black cherry juice, and tomato paste.  It contains 2% or less of the following: honey, sea salt, onion powder, granulated garlic, spices (including celery seed), red wine vinegar, molasses, paprika, and citric acid.  It does not contain MSG or nitrates, except those that naturally occur in sea salt and celery seed.

Krave makes Basil Citrus and Lemon Garlic turkey jerky, Grilled Sweet Teriyaki and Black Cherry Barbecue pork jerky, and Chili Lime, Garlic Chili Pepper, Sweet Chipotle, and Pineapple Orange beef jerky.  All 8 varieties of Krave Jerky are gluten free.

Locally, Krave Jerky is available at The Fresh Market, Target, Publix, Walmart, Whole Foods, ABC Fine Wines & Spirits, Vitamin Shoppe, Total Wine, and Walt Disney World.  You can view Krave's store locator here.

January 10, 2016 Update

Since writing this post, I have tried Krave chili lime and sweet chipotle beef jerky.  I liked the chili lime, but preferred the sweet chipotle, which I would definitely buy again.  Both bags of Krave beef jerky were purchased at Target.   I found Krave Basil Citrus Turkey Jerky at The Fresh Market in Winter Springs. Another great flavor, but the black cherry barbecue pork jerky is still my favorite.  We always take Krave jerky with us when we travel, and my husband just grabbed a bag from the pantry before he left to play golf.  Krave Jerky can be a little pricey, but it is often on sale at Target, where I bought it today for about $5 a bag.
