Heavenly Flan

While in Altamonte Springs, shopping for new couches yesterday, I remembered that Heavenly Flan was in the area.  I first read about Heavenly Flan online in an article about the best gluten free baked goods in Orlando.  You can read the article here

Heavenly Flan placed 4th behind three establishments I have been to -- Raphsodic Bakery, Babycakes NYC in Downtown Disney, and Le Macaron.  Raphsodic and Babycakes, in my opinion, can be hit or miss.  They are both vegan, and I like my dairy and eggs.  Now don't get me wrong, I've had some very good vegan baked goods, but I have had way too many dry, overly sweet ones.  At Raphsodic, their gluten free double chocolate marzipan biscotti are absolutely amazing, but they don't make them every day.  At Babycakes, I like the bagels (special order only), and cinnamon sugar donuts and toasties.  Le Macaron -- what can I say besides the fact that you must go and try their delectable creations.  Their caramel salted butter macarons are my absolute favorite.  I could eat them every day!

Now, on to the star of this blog post.  My husband and I spent some time talking to the owner of Heavenly Flan.  I am so glad we were able to visit her shop on Small Business Saturday.  All of the flans are gluten free, made from natural and organic ingredients, and have no preservatives.

Flavors include vanilla, cheese, coconut, chocolate, sweet potato, amaretto, coffee, passion fruit, and pumpkin, a seasonal flavor.

The flans are available in small, medium, and large.

My husband chose the pumpkin, which we both really enjoyed.

The chocolate was delicious as well.  My daughters and I each ordered one of course.  The apples didn't fall far from the tree when it comes to chocolate addiction with the females in my family.

I have to say, though, that my favorite of the three flavors we purchased was the cheese.  My philosophy is that desserts are always better with cream cheese, and this was definitely the case with the cheese flan.  It was incredibly delicious!

I am rarely in Altamonte, so I was happy to learn that Heavenly Flan's products are available at one of the shops in the East End Market, which is just 5 minutes from my house, and home to my favorite juice and smoothie bar Skyebird.

Heavenly Flan also has a commercial kitchen on site that is available for rent.

If you like flan, you need to check out Heavenly Flan.  If you have never had a flan, you definitely must check out Heavenly Flan!
