Disney's Port Orleans Resort Allergy-Friendly Menus

Starting in April, table service and quick service restaurants at Walt Disney World and Disneyland began adopting allergy-friendly menus.  By the end of September, you can expect to see these menus at all Disney-owned and operated restaurants.  The allergy-friendly menus cover the top 8 food allergies - gluten/wheat, milk, egg, soy, peanut/tree nut, and fish/shellfish.  This post will focus on the gluten/wheat allergy-friendly options on the menus at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, Riverside Mill Food Court, and Boatwright's Dining Hall.




Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is a quick service restaurant located at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, a resort I have featured in my series Best Disney Resorts for Special Diets.

They have the following gluten/wheat allergy-friendly options on their breakfast menu:
  • Create-your-own breakfast bowl
  • Yogurt with fruit
  • Breakfast platter with waffles, eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage
  • Scrambled eggs with meat
  • Oatmeal
  • Grits
  • Assorted breads and pastries
  • Beignets



Kids' Meals (served with choice of grapes or apple slices, and small lowfat milk or small Dasani water)
  • Breakfast platter with waffles, potatoes, eggs, and bacon
  • Mickey waffles with bacon or sausage
  • Yogurt cup


Lunch and Dinner Menu
  • Entrees (served with french fries or bean salad) - 1/3 lb Angus avocado burger, 1/3 lb angus mushroom swiss burger, hot dog, chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, house-made veggie burger, grilled fish sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, tuna salad sandwich, cheese or pepperoni pizza, broccoli cheddar and bacon baked potato
  • Dessert - allergy-friendly chocolate chip cookie, allergy-friendly brownie, ice cream, beignets
  • Kids' Meals (served with choice of carrots, grapes or apple slices, and small lowfat milk or small Dasani water) - turkey sandwich, pepperoni or cheese pizza, hamburger, cheeseburger, chicken tenders, hot dog, macaroni & cheese
  • Dinner special available after 5:00 p.m. (served with your choice of  french fries, bean salad, steamed broccoli, fruit, or coleslaw) - jambalaya

Riverside Mill Food Court is a quick service restaurant located at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.  

They have the following gluten/wheat allergy-friendly options on their breakfast menu:
  • Create-your-own omelet
  • Create-your-own yogurt parfait
  • Create-your-own oatmeal
  • Bounty platter
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Mickey waffles
  • Pancakes
  • French toast
  • Grits
  • Assorted pastries


Kids' Meals (served with choice of grapes or apple slices, and small lowfat milk or small Dasani water)
  • Chicken and tomato omelet
  • Scrambled eggs with meat
  • Breakfast platter
  • Mickey waffles
  • Pancakes


Lunch and Dinner Menu
  • Entrees (served with french fries or coleslaw) - 1/3 lb Angus bacon cheeseburger, 1/3 lb Angus cheeseburger, hot dog, chicken tenders, grilled chicken sandwich, grilled fish sandwich, cheese or pepperoni pizza, macaroni & cheese, create-you-own pasta, Cajun turkey club sandwich, roast beef melt sandwich, tuna salad sandwich, shrimp salad sandwich, create-your-own salad
  • Available after 5:00 p.m. - carved meat with mashed potatoes and vegetables
  • Desserts - allergy-friendly chocolate chip cookie, allergy-friendly brownie, ice cream


Boatwright's Dining Hall is a table service restaurant located at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.  The following dishes are gluten free options on their dinner menu: 

Appetizers
  • French Onion Soup Au Gratin - onions in a rich beef broth topped with provolone and swiss
  • Amelia's Salad - seasonal spinach salad with house-made vinaigrette
  • Plantation Salad - romaine and crisp prosciutto with house dressing
  • Colonel Peace's Pieces - crawfish, oyster, and okra in a crispy corn breading
  • Pirogue Platter - chef's selection of meat, cheeses, and accompaniments


Entrees
  • Boatwright's Jambalaya - chicken thighs, andouille sausage, and shrimp in a Cajun tomato broth
  • General Fulton's Prime Rib - served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables
  • The Big Easy - New York strip steak served over mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables
  • Flambeau Fish - blackened sustainable catch served over sweet corn griddle cakes and topped with black eyed pea salsa
  • Pontchartrain Pasta - shrimp or chicken with tasso ham, corn, peppers, and onions tossed in a light cream sauce over pasta
  • Voodoo Chicken - served with waffles and pure maple syrup


Desserts
  • Royal Bananas Foster 
  • Seasonal sorbet
  • Butterscotch creme brulee
  • Allergy-friendly cookie a la mode


Kids' Meals - for guests ages 9 and under
  • Appetizers - carrot and celery sticks with fat-free ranch dressing; garden salad with fat-free ranch dressing
  • Mickey Check Meals (served with choice of small lowfat milk or small Dasani water) - roasted turkey served with brown rice, green beans, and strawberries; grilled fish served with brown rice, green beans, and apples
  • A la carte meals served with one beverage (small lowfat milk, small Dasani water, or small Minute Maid apple juice), one entree (cheese pizza, hamburger, mac & cheese, or chicken tenders), green beans, and dessert (ice cream sundae, sliced apples, strawberry yogurt parfait, or fresh strawberries)

All menus note that you may consult with a chef before placing your order.  None of the dishes on these menus require advance notice.  You can find reviews of all of these restaurants on the Disney page of my blog.  The next time I dine at Port Orleans, I will take pictures of the menus so you can see allergy-friendly options for milk, egg, soy, peanut/tree nut, and fish/shellfish.
