Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe - Epcot

Over Thanksgiving Break, we stopped at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot to check out their newest gluten free dessert option.

Even though we had advance dining reservations at Coral Reef in an hour, this was our last day at Epcot, and I wanted to try the chocolate cake with banana mousse.

Both gluten free options at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe are a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

One of my blog readers asked me if I prefer the chocolate cake with banana mousse or the rice cream with strawberries. That is hard to say, because they are so different, and I have never had them on the same day. Sometimes I am in the mood for chocolate, and sometimes I am in the mood for a dessert with fruit, so my top pick might depend on the day.

I shared the chocolate cake with banana mousse with my husband and daughters, and everyone thought it was delicious.

The banana flavor was subtle, and paired well with the chocolate. I will definitely get the cake again when we return to Disney World next summer.

Please excuse the photo of our chocolate cake with banana mousse mauled by forks, but I wanted you to see what this dessert looks like on the inside.

The rice cream at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe is another great dessert option. I love rice pudding, especially when it is topped by fruit. The rice pudding part is super creamy, and overall, the rice cream is not overly sweet.

My only issue with this dessert is that there is red food coloring in the strawberries, which I would prefer be left out.

Both desserts are in displays cases with other treats containing gluten, but they are on their own trays, and when I asked about gluten free desserts and ordered the cake, my dessert was taken out of a separate cooler. Both the rice cream and the chocolate cake with banana mousse contain dairy, but I am not sure about other allergens.

I love the macaron ice cream sandwiches at the France Pavilion in Epcot, and the maple popcorn at the Canada Pavilion, but the chocolate cake with banana mousse at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe might now be my top pick for a sweet treat at Epcot.

What are your favorite gluten free snacks and treats at Epcot?
