Roaring Fork - Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Yesterday, we had breakfast at Roaring Fork, a quick service restaurant at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

We have eaten at Whispering Canyon Cafe before at the Wilderness Lodge, but this was our first time dining at Roaring Fork.

We headed straight to the waffle station, where I asked to speak to a manager.

The manager told me that he had gluten free waffles available, and that the bananas foster topping would be safe.  I could have also ordered the strawberry waffles with whipped cream, or the chocolate lovers waffles with chocolate chips, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce.  Roaring Fork uses Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, which is gluten free.

The manager told me that my waffles would be ready in less than 4 minutes, and he kept his promise.  I could see him preparing my waffles while I waited.

My adult order of waffles included 3 gluten free Mickey waffles, a huge amount of bananas foster, and a couple of pieces of bacon.  My girls' kids' meals included two waffles, bacon, applesauce, and a drink.

I am pretty sure Roaring Fork is using Bob's Red Mill mix for their waffles.  They were nice and crispy on the outside, but I should have asked for my bananas foster on the side, because there was too much of it for my taste, and it started to make my waffles a little soggy while I was eating.  The bacon was the typical stringy bacon you get in quick service restaurants at Disney.  It tasted good, but I prefer thicker cut, crispier bacon.

After breakfast, we spent some time walking around Disney's Wilderness Lodge, which in my opinion, is the most beautiful resort at Disney World.

My husband and daughters really enjoyed their gluten-filled waffles, and I was impressed with mine as well.
