Trader Joe's Creme Brulee

Yesterday, I purchased Trader Joe's Creme Brulee because of a recommendation from a blog reader.

It can be found in the freezer section, and is labeled gluten free.  A full list of Trader Joe's gluten free products can be found here.

The serving instructions were very easy.  All you have to do is remove the plastic packaging, and let the cremes brulees defrost at room temperature for an hour.

My whole family loves creme brulee, but I wasn't sure I would like the edible dark chocolate cup it was served in, because I thought it might overpower the taste of the custard.

Trader Joe's creme brulee lacks the hard caramelized sugar I am used to, but it tasted great.  The custard was smooth and creamy, with just the right amount of vanilla.  I probably would not have eaten the chocolate cup if I had not served my creme brulee with strawberries, but the two paired together were perfect, because it was like I was eating chocolate covered strawberries with a rich custard.  My husband and daughters ate their cremes brulees as is, and all loved them.  My daughters both requested that I buy them again soon.

Have you tried Trader Joe's creme brulee?
