Columbia Harbour House - Magic Kingdom

Yesterday, we stopped at Columbia Harbour House, a quick service restaurant in Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom, to see their new allergy-friendly menu.

Columbia Harbour House has long been my favorite restaurant for allergy-friendly chicken tenders and french fries at Disney World, and is featured in My Disney Top 10 - Quick Service blog post.  We dined there so often in the first year or two we lived in Orlando, that the managers started to recognize me when we came in.  They used to bake the chicken tenders and fries for me, and I had to wait 20 minutes, but now they have a dedicated fryer, so they only take about 5 minutes to prepare.

Columbia Harbour House offers the following gluten free options:

  • Entrees (served with french fries or fresh-steamed broccoli) - grilled salmon, chicken tenders, garden harvest salad with chicken tossed with a Zinfandel vinaigrette dressing
  • Desserts - allergy-friendly brownie, allergy-friendly chocolate chip cookie
  • Kids' Meals (served with choice of small lowfat milk or Dasani water, and grapes and Dannon Danimals Yogurt; french fries may be substituted upon request) - kids' salad with chicken, rice noodle macaroni & cheese, chicken tenders

Columbia Harbour House's previous special dietary needs menu mentioned specific brand names, like Amy's Macaroni & Cheese, OMG...It's Gluten Free fudge brownies and chocolate chip cookies, and Enjoy Life cookies.  When I am eating at Columbia Harbour House, I rarely pass up a chance to order one of their OMG...It's Gluten Free fudge brownies, which are so fudgy and delicious.

Last fall, I ordered the salmon with broccoli, and thought it was really good.  It was cooked perfectly, but I had to add some salt, because it was a little underseasoned for my taste.  Same thing with the broccoli - it was cooked perfectly, but needed some salt.  On the regular menu, the salmon is listed as being served with couscous and broccoli.  The next time I order this dish, I will ask for some french fries to replace the gluten-filled couscous, instead of getting a double portion of broccoli.

You can read more about Columbia Harbour House, and view their hours and menu on Disney's website here.

What are your favorite gluten free options at Columbia Harbour House?

  1. We ate here twice on our trip this past November. My 3 year old daughter with celiac had the chicken tenders and french fries both times. She really enjoyed them! We like that the manager brings out the GF food in all the quick service locations. The non-GF chicken nuggets are great too! Be sure to get there early to beat the lunch crowd (although we didn't find it difficult to find a table even when the line for food was out the door).

  2. I absolutely love their chicken tenders and fries. We have turned it into a last day of the trip tradition. But I would love to try the lobster roll. Do you know if the lobster role without the bun (ie just the filling) is GF?

  3. Do you know which type of oil is typically used for fried foods at restaurants like these?
