Of the two water parks at Walt Disney World, my family has always preferred the theming and attractions at Blizzard Beach. You can read my review of Lottawatta Lodge at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park here.
The story behind Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is that an epic typhoon blew through Mount Mayday, tossing boats around and hurling surfboards into palm trees.
Leaning Palms definitely looks like is sustained some storm damage with its leaning tower.
Gluten free options on Leaning Palms' allergy-friendly menu include a chicken sandwich, 1/3 lb Angus cheeseburger, cheese pizza, chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, hot dog, the tropical salad, and gluten free fudge brownies and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Entrees are served with apple slices, grapes, house-made chips, or french fries. Kids' Meals, which are served with grapes, apple slices or applesauce, include a turkey sandwich, cheese pizza, chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, and a hot dog.
The allergy-friendly menu also lists options for people with milk, egg, soy, fish/shellfish, and peanut/tree nut allergies.
I decided to order the allergy-friendly chicken tenders with house-made chips, the same meal I had at Lottawatta Lodge at Disney's Blizzard Beach. You can pretty much never go wrong with these chicken tenders, which are the best gluten free chicken tenders I have had since being diagnosed with celiac. Some Disney restaurants bake them, because they don't have a dedicated fryer, but I prefer them fried. Dipped in some ketchup, they are so delicious.
The house-made chips at Leaning Palms were nice and crunchy, and had a seasoning on them that reminded me of barbeque chips.
I had to wait to eat my OMG...It's Gluten Free Fudge Brownie at home, because I didn't do a very good job tearing open the package, and I didn't feel like asking a cast member for help.
It was certainly worth the wait though, and I was able to take this picture of the brownie cut in half so you can see how amazing they are. OMG...It's Gluten Free fudge brownies are slightly crispy on the outside, with an incredibly fudgy center. They are the best gluten free brownies I have ever had, and can be ordered online here. They are available at the majority of Disney-owned and operated table service and quick service restaurants in the theme parks and at the resorts. I am always careful to avoid the sugar free version of the OMG brownies, because I do not eat anything with maltitol.
Overall, I really enjoyed my lunch at Leaning Palms at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
