Craft Kafe - St. Petersburg, Florida

On Saturday, my husband and I drove to St. Petersburg to have dinner at Fresh Kitchen, and see the Chilhuly Collection and The Dali Museum.  After reading reviews for Craft Kafe on the Find Me Gluten Free app, we decided to stop there for lunch.

Craft Kafe is a 100% gluten free artisan coffee house and bakery.  They were pretty busy when we arrived at 11:00, so I was happy we managed to find a table inside.  Outdoor seating is also available.

There were a lot of baked goods to choose from, including some vegan options.

I did not take pictures of the key lime pie, or the chocolate and carrot cakes, but they looked delicious.

As soon as I saw the apple strudel, I knew what we would be having for dessert.  I was also tempted by their biscotti, but I did not want to eat too much, because I figured that we would be having an early dinner at Fresh Kitchen before we headed back to Orlando.

While we waited for our food to be heated up, we enjoyed our coffee.

I had a decaf iced latte with house-made caramel, and my husband ordered a decaf cortado, which is espresso with warm milk.  With a little added sugar in the raw, my coffee was perfect.

Craft Kafe had several pizzas and quiches to choose from, so my husband and I decided to split a piece of spinach pizza and a slice of spinach, tomato and feta quiche.

The pictures do not do them justice.  I loved the pizza, which was a white pizza without red sauce.  The crust was very good, and the toppings were flavorful.  The cheese looked a little too brown on the pizza, but it tasted great.

After reading great reviews about the quiche on the Find Me Gluten Free app, I knew we had to try a piece, and it certainly did not disappoint.  It was one of the best quiches I have ever had, and I would definitely order it again if we ever make it back to Craft Kafe.  It was light and fluffy, and full of flavor from the cheese and vegetables.

The apple strudel at Craft Kafe reminded me of my apple crostata.  The crust was buttery and flaky, and the apples were perfectly sweet.

Overall, I was very impressed by the food and drink at Craft Kafe, and the service was great.  You would probably find us hanging out at this beautiful coffee house at least once a week if we lived in St. Petersburg.
