Terra Treats Allergy Kiosk - Disney's Animal Kingdom

Earlier this week, I stopped at the allergy kiosk in Disney's Animal Kingdom, and noticed that it had a new name.  When Disney first opened an allergy kiosk at the Animal Kingdom two years ago, it was called the Gardens Kiosk, and it was located right outside of DinoLand.  Then, it was moved to Discovery Island, across from Starbucks, and named the Discovery Island Kiosk.  It is now being called Terra Treats, and Disney's Animal Kingdom guidemap says it sells allergy-friendly snacks, and has information on special dietary options throughout the park.

Oddly enough, there was no one working there when we stopped by around 10:00.  On past visit to the Animal Kingdom, I remember the allergy kiosk always being open when the park opened, but it seems like they have more limited hours than they used to.  Checking a bunch of dates on Disney's website, it looks like Terra Treats opens at 10:30 now, which makes it hard for someone to pick up a doughnut, muffin, or fruit cup for breakfast.

Gluten free snack options at Terra Treats include hummus with vegetables, several varieties of Lundberg Rice Chips (sea salt, fiesta lime, Sante Fe barbecue), Kinnikinnick cinnamon sugar and vanilla glazed donuts, Udi's bagels and muffins (chocolate and blueberry), Enjoy Life Soft Baked Double Chocolate Brownie Cookies, Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC chocolate chips cookies and mini brownie cupcakes, Rocky Mountain caramel popcorn, and a fresh fruit cup.  Beverage options include soda, bottled water, chocolate and vanilla Silk soy milk, and gluten free beer.  It looks like they have eliminated the chicken salad sandwich meal they used to offer.  Out of all the snack options at Terra Treats, I would definitely pick the mini brownie cupcakes made by Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC in Disney Springs.  When the allergy kiosk first opened at the Animal Kingdom, they sold Erin McKenna's donuts, but sadly, those are no longer available.

If you have questions about allergy-friendly options at the restaurants and kiosks around the Animal Kingdom, cast members at the Terra Treats allergy kiosk can check ingredients for you.  You can view their hours and menu on Disney's website here.

I added the allergy-friendly menus for Restaurantosaurus, Pizzafari, and Flame Tree Barbecue to my blog this week.  You can check out the allergy-friendly menu for Harambe Market here.  None of the table service restaurants at the Animal Kingdom have allergy-friendly menus, because Tusker House is a buffet, and Rainforest Cafe and Yak & Yeti Restaurant are not Disney-owned and operated.  Later this year, Tiffins, a new signature dining restaurant, will be open for lunch and dinner at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Have you found the allergy kiosk to be helpful for allergy dining tips?  What are your favorite gluten free snacks at Terra Treats?
