Inn on Randolph - Napa, California

Over Easter break, we spent three nights at Inn on Randolph, a 100% gluten free bed and breakfast in Napa, California.

Inn on Randolph, a Victorian home dating back to the 1860's, is located in Napa's largest residential historic district, and has 5 cottages and 5 historic inn rooms to choose from.

Alyssia gave us a tour of the main house, and told us a little bit about its history before taking us up to our room.

My husband and I stayed in the Walker Room on the second floor of the Inn.  We did not have to get a second room for our daughters, because they stayed with my family at The Westin Verasa Napa, which was only about five minutes away.

Our room was spacious, with a desk, seating area, wine refrigerator, wardrobe for clothes, and balcony overlooking the cottages.

Our welcome basket contained a half bottle of red wine, water, and gluten free popcorn and chocolate chip cookies.

I love that there was no need to worry about whether the chocolate on our bedside table was gluten free at Inn on Randolph.

All of their toiletries are gluten free too.

Our bathroom was quite big, with a large shower and heated floors.

You can enjoy Inn on Randolph's two-course breakfast at either 8:30 or 9:15.

We opted for the earlier seating, and always chose the small table in the side room for privacy, and lighting for food photos.

Breakfast on the first day started with a delicious apple cranberry muffin served with honey butter.  I asked what flour Chef Dianne uses, and was told that she usually makes muffins with Pamela's.

Our second course was one of my personal favorites, chicken and waffles with a balsamic drizzle and berry sauce.

I decided to try some tea when my husband showed me that Inn on Randolph has Bigelow caffeine free lemon ginger herbal tea with probiotics.

On day two, our first course was french toast with an apple drizzle.  I could eat this for breakfast every day, it was so good.

Chef Claudia prepared a skillet for our second course.  I was a little worried when I saw the sauce drizzled on top, but I enjoyed the eggs, vegetables, and meat in my skillet.

Breakfast on our final day started with Chef Dianne's incredible homemade yogurt and homemade granola with fresh fruit.  You can check out the recipe on Inn on Randolph's blog here.  Thankfully, it did not contain coconut the day we had it, because coconut tops my list of least favorite foods.

Our final course was sheer perfection - lemon ricotta pancakes topped with a berry sauce and kiwi, two eggs over medium, and thick cut maple bacon.  I never wanted to leave!

During the day, complimentary cold beverages and chocolate chip cookies were available in the dining room.  The cookies had crispy edges, and just the right amount of chocolate chips.  You can view the recipe here.

Overall, we loved our stay at Inn on Randolph, and hope to return again soon.  The food was incredible, our room was immaculate, and you can't beat their hospitality.  We loved the neighborhood the house was in with all of its historic houses, and it was a short walk to the center of Napa.

A stay at Inn on Randolph should be on every celiac's bucket list.  Not only did we have great meals at the Inn, but also at C CASA, a 100% gluten free restaurant at nearby Oxbow Public Market.  C CASA sells baked goods from Cate & Co., which makes some of the best gluten free cookies and donuts I have ever had.  I will be posting my food reviews from Napa soon.
