Disney Wonder Baja Cruise 2019
Over Easter Break, we spent three nights at Disneyland, and took a five night Baja cruise with my parents on the Disney Wonder out of San Diego.
This was our ninth cruise with Disney Cruise Line, and our first on the Disney Wonder.

Palo Brunch & Dinner - Disney Wonder
Over Easter Break, we took our ninth cruise with Disney Cruise Line, and our first on the Disney Wonder. My husband and I never miss a chance to dine at Palo, an adults-only restaurant serving Northern Italian cuisine on all Disney ships.
When our booking window opened, I made reservations for brunch and dinner. The charge for Palo is now $40 per person, but it is definitely worth it.

Disney Magic - Lunch & Dinner
In July, we took a 12-night British Isles cruise on the Disney Magic, our 8th cruise with Disney Cruise Line. You can find all my previous Disney Cruise Line reviews on the Disney page of my blog.
We spent 5 nights in London before taking a train to Dover to board the Disney Magic. You can read all my dining reviews from London here.

Palo Brunch & Dinner - Disney Magic
We recently returned home from a 12 night British Isles cruise on the Disney Magic. This was our eighth cruise with Disney Cruise Line and our second on the Disney Magic. I always have my travel agent note my gluten "allergy" on our reservation so that our serving team is alerted ahead of time. You can find all my previous Disney Cruise Line reviews on the Disney page of my blog here.
When our booking window opened, I made reservations for brunch and dinner at Palo, an adults-only restaurant serving northern Italian-inspired cuisine. The charge for both brunch and dinner is $30 per person, but it is well worth it. Brunch at Palo is only offered on sea days, so be sure to make a reservation as soon as your booking window opens, but we had no problem getting reservations for dinner, and could have dined at Palo multiple nights, but our daughters were not happy about us having dinner without them more than once.

I pre-ordered all of my breakfasts with our head server Aziz the night before at dinner. When we had shore excursions in the morning, we ate at Cabanas, and my breakfasts were delivered there at a set time, but on our three days at sea, we had more leisurely breakfasts at Animator's Palate, Carioca's, or Lumiere's.

Dinner on the Disney Fantasy - Part 2
Last week, my family took a seven night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy. This was our 7th time cruising with the Disney Cruise Line, but our first on the Disney Fantasy. You can read my first three dinner reviews from our latest cruise here.
On the fourth night of our cruise, we dined in Animator's Palate for the second time. Your first dinner at Animator's Palate on the Disney Fantasy features the Underwater Magic show with characters from Finding Nemo. The fourth night of our cruise was Pirate night, so all three Main Dining restaurants featured the same menu.

Dinner on the Disney Fantasy - Part 1
Last week, my family took a seven night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy. This was our 7th time cruising with the Disney Cruise Line, but our first on the Disney Fantasy. You can read about my previous experiences dining gluten free on the Disney Dream and the Disney Magic here.
Every time we have sailed with the Disney Cruise Line, I have had my travel agent note my dietary restrictions on my reservation, so our dining team is prepared when I arrive. You can also fill out a special services form that notes your food allergies, and submit it to the Disney Cruise Line.

Remy Champagne Brunch - Disney Fantasy
Last week, my family took a seven night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy. This was our 7th time cruising with the Disney Cruise Line, but our first on the Disney Fantasy. You can read about my previous experiences dining gluten free on the Disney Dream and the Disney Magic here.
Before we sailed, I made reservations for brunch and dinner at Palo, and brunch at Remy, the two adults only restaurants on the Disney Fantasy. Palo, which serves Italian cuisine, is on all four Disney Cruise Line ships, while Remy, which features a French-inspired menu, is only on the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. Be sure to look up to see Remy, the star of the film Ratatouille, when you enter the restaurant.

We have always sailed out of Port Canaveral, which is less than an hour from our house in Orlando. Being gold Castaway Club members, we were able to sign up for the earliest boarding time on the Disney Cruise Line website, so we were in boarding group two, and headed up to Cabanas for lunch right around noon.

Palo Dinner - Disney Fantasy
My family just got back from a seven night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy.
My daughters don't mind, because we were cruising with my parents and my brother's family, so they had plenty of people to have lunch and dinner with.

Most mornings, we had breakfast at the Royal Court, one of the main dining restaurants on the Disney Fantasy. My parents enjoy table service dining for breakfast, and I prefer to dine there too, because the other restaurants that are open for breakfast are buffets.

Gluten Free on the Disney Magic
Last week, we took a 7-night western Caribbean cruise on the Disney Magic. Our previous 5 cruises on the Disney Cruise Line were all on the Disney Dream, which you can read about here.
The Disney Magic, Disney's first cruise liner, was recently re-imagineered. It is smaller than the Disney Dream, and less grand, but I enjoyed the more intimate feel of the ship, and that it had many fewer passengers. My travel agent always notes my gluten/wheat "allergy" on my reservation, so that my service team is alerted ahead of time. After boarding, I headed to Carioca's, which was open for lunch, to pre-order my dinner with one of the Head Servers. I don't know if this step is necessary anymore, because the Disney Cruise Line is now marking gluten free items on their menus on all of their ships. My friend Sarah from Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free at WDW recently sailed on the Disney Dream, which now has gluten free and dairy free menu items listed on their menus.

Gluten Free on the Disney Dream
Last week, we took our 5th cruise on the Disney Dream. You can view my previous post about dining gluten free on the Disney Cruise Line here. We have always taken the 3 night cruise in the past, but on this trip, we had four nights on the Dream.
We boarded the ship so early, Cabanas, our usual lunch spot, was not even open. While my daughters and their cousins impatiently waited at the front of the buffet, I started to look for a chef. The chef I spoke to pointed out gluten free options on the buffet for me, and brought me a plate of french fries from neighboring Flo's Cafe. On the first day of our cruise, I did take salmon, lamb chops, chicken, and steak from the buffet, because it had just opened, but on the second day, I asked for food from the back because of cross contamination concerns. I was offered Enjoy Life Soft Baked Snickerdoodle Cookies at the dessert station, but when I inquired if any of the desserts on display were gluten free, I was told that I could eat the chocolate mousse.

Palo Brunch - Disney Dream
My husband and I dined at Palo for brunch on our most recent cruise on the Disney Dream. Palo is an adults-only restaurant serving Northern Italian cuisine on the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy. Palo serves dinner every night from 6 to 9 pm, but only serves brunch while the ship is out at sea during Disney four night and longer cruises. The dining charge is $25 per person for brunch. You can read my review of Palo for dinner here.
After having a huge dinner at Palo the night before, my husband and I weren't too excited to go to Palo for brunch. We had already been overeating for three days at that point and were a little wary of eating another big meal.

Palo Dinner - Disney Dream
My husband and I dined at Palo on the Disney Dream for both dinner and brunch on our most recent cruise. Two years ago, we also had dinner at Palo on our 10th anniversary cruise. Palo is an adult exclusive restaurant located on the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and the Disney Fantasy. Reservations are required for dining at Palo, and there is a $25 dining charge per person. Men are required to wear dress pants and a dress shirt, while women have to wear a dress or pantsuit. Jeans, shorts, capri pants, tennis shoes, and flip-flops are not allowed.
Mitch and I checked out the wine list on Meridian's outdoor deck while we waited for Palo to open. Meridian is an adults-only lounge located between Palo and Remy, the two adults-only restaurants on the Disney Dream. We ate at Remy on our anniversary cruise, and had the best meal we have ever eaten. The dining charge for Remy is $75 per person.

Disney Cruise Line Gluten Free
Last Thursday, we headed to Port Canaveral, which is about an hour away from Disney World, for our fourth cruise on the Disney Dream. We have always taken the three night cruise from Thursday to Sunday.
We like to arrive by 10:00 and get in the line on the 3rd floor of the parking garage. At 10:30, passengers are allowed into the terminal to check in. The earlier you check in, the earlier you get to board the ship. I was impressed by all the Christmas decorations at the terminal and on the ship. At 11:30, boarding began, and by 12:00 we were having lunch at Cabanas on Deck 11.
